Are you one of the many becoming more and more disenchanted with ordering online? Its a bummer, but the truth is buying online is harder than ever. Over the past few years, even once reliable marketplaces like Etsy have become overrun with unreliable, copycats, and flat-out fraudulent sellers willing to overpromise and underdeliver.
Etsys once handmade/vintage platform is now drowning in loose rules and third party fulfillment services. Did you know a lot of the time when you buy from a seller on etsy they are not making the product themselves at all? Be sure to check for Production Partners at the bottom of seller's page. If there is one listed, that seller is NOT producing your items by hand. They are uploading the design to a third-party production facility. They have NO control over your end products quality. Even worse, it is no longer easy to recognize which are true small businesses that grew by producing their own products and building their own production methods. Long term sellers like us now find themselves on level playing fields with brand new sellers who can just slap a design (also easily bought on etsy) on anything and send it to third party bulk production companies to fulfill and ship the items, Thus, driving truly unique handmade items/sellers out of etsy and into the profits of big bulk production companies.
The bottom line is when you shop with a Zoeys Attic brand (City Soul Streetwear) you are creating a relationship with our team - the team we've built since 2008 full of hard-working people who create, make, and fulfill your orders from our Kirkwood, MO workshop.
